Celebrating Success: A Week of Fundraising Reaches £18,178 in Donations!

Phew! It’s been a super busy week of fundraising at the Farm. But it has been totally worth it, as we are absolutely thrilled to announce the astounding success of our Big Give campaign, where our community rallied together to support the Farm and make a significant impact, helping us to not only reach our £10,000 Big Give target but also to surpass this and make an amazing £18,178 in just one week!

So what’s been going on?

Like we said, it’s been a busy week! You may have been following our journey on social media but if you missed anything, here’s a roundup:

Our Chair of Trustee Clare took part in the London Marathon on our behalf. Clare’s remarkable achievement in completing the marathon in an impressive 4 hours and 56 minutes left us in awe and we are so grateful that Clare chose us as her charity of choice. Thank you.

While Clare tackled the marathon, some of our Farm team embarked on a Gower Three Peaks Walk, at the same time. Not quite the same thing as running a marathon but we showed solidarity and still think it's still a feat worth celebrating.

Meanwhile, our young volunteers showcased their fundraising skills, raising an impressive £212 collecting outside Tesco Fforestfach from our generous community. With the Big Give's match funds, this amount doubled to £424. Great work guys!

The 1st Loughor Brownies and 1st Llwchwr Rainbows showcased their incredible generosity by donating their week's subs to our campaign and enjoying their weekly session at the Farm. And our neighbours, Cadle Primary School held a non-school uniform day raising £168, doubled to £336! Thank you so much.

How did we surpass our online goal of £10k?

The Farm has been lucky enough to have our first ever fundraising Gala organised on our behalf by the BNI Dylan Chapter. It was a brilliant evening and thanks to the amazing generosity from its members, we received over £6000 on the night! Wow! (We’ll have more details and pictures from the evening coming soon).

And finally, the fantastic Cockett Ward Councillors stepped in with a further £2.5k in Match Funding, which is how we ended up at our truly amazing grand total of £18,178.

And of course, we couldn't do it without the many donations from you, our amazing community. We are very grateful to everyone who took the time to donate. Diolch.

Where is the money going?

Our animals are awesome and play a vital role in caring for our volunteers and the community's wellbeing, whilst simultaneously helping to conserve and develop the unique biodiversity of area. All of these donations will not only care for our rare breed animals, but it will in turn help to support hundreds of volunteers with their health and wellbeing throughout the next year.

“Working with the animals has helped me to be more active, happier and be more confident talking to other people.” - Adult Volunteer

“Being part of the project has definitely helped with managing anxiety and depression levels, which has in turn helped my physical health as well. Socialising, actually being more confident.” - Adult Volunteer

If you would like to further support the Farm’s efforts, please do sign up as a Monthly Donor. Whilst we are always grateful for one off donations of any size, Monthly Giving is the best way to support the Farm as it enables us to better plan for the future and support the ongoing needs of our community.

Diolch!
