Introducing the Dyfodol Gwyrdd Project
The team at Swansea Community Farm are proud to be working alongside local partners as part of the Penderi Regeneration to help improve green spaces in Penderi, and we need your help! Starting on Friday the 1st of March we are inviting local community members to join us at our Adult Volunteer Day, every Friday 10am - 2:30pm.
We will be working together on projects to improve local green spaces like the Ravine, Robin Road and Muddy Park. This will include a mixture of woodwork, gardening and conservation. Volunteers will get stuck into all sorts of hands on, practical projects to help improve green spaces for people and nature. This could involve planting trees, building habitats like dead hedges, birdboxes and grass snake egg laying heaps, building planters and planting trees and flowers. As well as coming to get involved, we expect volunteers to help us understand what is needed to improve the area. If you’ve got ideas for improving your area, or skills you’d like to share, bring them along!
Volunteering is also good for your health and wellbeing as it helps you to get active, learn new things and connect with other people, so if you are looking for something to make you feel a bit better this might be just the thing. Come along to get involved, meet new people and learn green skills. Lunch will be included too!
We’re meeting every Friday at 104 Broughton Avenue, starting from the 1st of March. If you’d like to know more please call 07902745329 to chat to Sven.
Wear old clothes and sensible footwear please! See you there!
